Reflexology for Mothers-to-be
Enjoy nine wonderful months together!
Being pregnant is something very special. A unique new life is being formed in your tummy. You want to enjoy this special time as much as possible. Reflexology helps you to do this. This method of treatment gives you and your unborn baby time to rest and relax.
What is reflexology?
Reflexology is a natural therapy. It is centred around the fact that there are zones on your feet, hands and head that correspond with all of your body’s organs and tissue. Massaging these zones stimulates the body’s self-healing faculties, arouses a natural form of recovery and improves the balance between body and mind.
Each of the body’s zones can be found on your foot, according to Dwight Byers
Why during or after pregnancy?
During pregnancy your body has to work hard and a lot of changes take place. Reflexology during pregnancy focusses on optimising your health and easing any pains during this important part of your life. Physically and mentally, it is a great way to prepare for the birth. Also, during the treatments you will experience very intense contact with your unborn baby. And after the birth a treatment can help you get your strength back and to find your own balance again quicker.
Easing pregnancy pains
Reflexology eases pains and problems during pregnancy. These could be nausea, heartburn, backache, pain in your pelvis, fatigue, mood changes, cystitis, constipation, sleeplessness, swelling, (slightly) high blood pressure and the start of pregnancy diabetes, for example. Reflexology can also be used during the turning of a breech birth and to induce a birth when you have reached your due date.
There is a very specific protocol for reflexology during pregnancy. It is beneficial if pain can be eased without the use of medicine. Through reflexology, the body is activated to use its self-healing faculties.
A massage takes one hour and costs € 70,-
